About Freelance US

It was 4:30 (or about there) in the morning and I was building a website. A website with a different twist on freelancing. A website dedicated to only allowing US Designers and Design firms establish connections with US based businesses and those around the world. Wait, what?

I woke up... I had been dreaming, but I jumped up and looked at my computer toolbar... It was 4:35 am... I started thinking about what I'd dreamed, and started to put the elements together in my head. Indeed.

We are at a cusp. We can either ride this crazy train all the way to brokeville, and let the rest of the world make off with what wealth we do have, and let the US decline into a state of feudalism with a repeat of the 'two class system', or we can step up and recognize that it's the middle class, the class with connections both high and low, that are responsible for getting things done in this country. We can wait for the US Government to pull its head out and do something right (yeah, as if) or we can take matters into our own hands, and rectify the damage done to our economy ourselves.

This is the premise of Freelance US. To reestablish the value (and a high value it has at that) of US based design thought and principles. We can reintroduce to the world, the immense talent and forward thought and innovative thinking and creativity of the US based designer.

We can lock out those that would not be based here as competition. The reason for this is to keep our money where it belongs. At home. This is the premise of Freelance US. Yes, it's nationalistic. But more than that, it's socially and economically responsible to this country and its residents.

If this is something you're down with assisting with, if you believe as I do that the innovative creativity of US designers is better served in conjunction with US businesses, that US businesses should be looking to US designers instead of abroad to 'save a few bucks', and most importantly, if you're a US designer with a penchant for socio-economic responsibility and national benefit, or a US based business which believes the same, then you're in the right place.

Freelance US is one designer's dream of connecting those that are ultimately responsible for the well-being of our economy and feeding that economy. It is ambitious and yet necessary. Freelance US is still under development, but hopefully will become something great. Thank you for your interest.
